New Focus During Ignite

Starting the first week in May we will be starting a new series called Evangephobia: Face Your Fears and Fuel Your Passion.  We are all scared of something; spiders, heights, clowns, evangelism...  This is a four-week series where students will discover how to overcome their fears about sharing the gospel.

Here are the topics we will be looking at over the next four weeks:

Week 1: Facing Your Fears
Week 2: Passion Fuel
Week 3: Sharing Your Story
Week 4: Dunamis, Dynamite

We as leaders are excited to share with the students and as we all seek to overcome our fears of evangelism.  Here are some things that you as parents can do to impact the effectiveness of our efforts.

  1. Pray-We all need to be in continual prayer for the students.  Pray that they can overcome their fears when it comes to evangelism so that Northside's Junior High Students can transform their school with the gospel.
  2. Talk-Be talking with your students about what they've learned and heard during Sunday Morning Ignite.  Getting them to think and discuss these things OUTSIDE of church is BIG!  Continually encourage them and challenge them to share their faith...and it always helps to lead by example.
  3. This series has an awesome resource to help students learn and overcome their fears.  There is a 30-day Student Devotional that will guide your students through the journey of hearing how God has helped other teenagers overcome evangephobia.  This devotional is available to purchase HERE or you can contact me and I can get you one for $8.00.  I strongly recommend purchasing one for your student.
As usual, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me by phone (864-4862) or by email (steven@nccburg.com).  If you would like to purchase a Student Devotional through the church, please let me know as soon as possible.  Thanks!

Jr. High Student Minister
